We are doing a vegetarian month for March in an attempt to collect more vegetarian recipes for our regular monthly menus, and this one is definitely a keeper! I will be trying some of your other ones! The Kolb'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06594683374244454847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4994789880127179002.post-78850058577044460982011-02-24T17:19:57.866-05:002011-02-24T17:19:57.866-05:00Catrin - to me taco seasoning and creole taste dif...Catrin - to me taco seasoning and creole taste different. But the burgers might still be really tasty using taco, just a different flavor than creole. I've never looked at TJs for creole, I just always get mine at HT (Kroger doesn't carry Zataran's creole, although it carries another brand).

If you are mild flavor people, then I would start with a little less onion, 1-2 cloves of garlic and 1 tsp of seasoning. You can taste the mixture and see what you think of the spiciness before you bake it. The batter will be slightly stronger tasting than the burgers turn out so keep that in mind. If you think the batter is fine, then they should bake up ok taste-wise. (Keep an extra can of black beans nearby because if even the reduced flavor proves more than you think your family can handle, you can always toss in another 1/2 cup of beans to dilute the flavor more before you bake them.

Let me know what you end up doing and what you think! :)

(You can totally freeze the leftovers - I do that all the time.)Baughfacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649004506659190271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4994789880127179002.post-85729331173267450772011-02-24T15:26:46.542-05:002011-02-24T15:26:46.542-05:00This sounds yummy--I'm going to try it (althou...This sounds yummy--I'm going to try it (although my family might have a revolution)! But I couldn't find creole seasoning at T-Joes and bought Taco seasoning instead. Do you think that would work? We're also "mild flavor" people, so I was a little concerned that too much overwhelming flavor would be a non-starter (without even telling them the ingredients). So, let me know what you think. I'm eager to try these, and I might have to eat all 6! (I'm guessing I can freeze the rest if I have leftovers).
