(And I secretly feel justified knowing there is someone else out there now who likes it enough to voluntarily eat it on their own!)

I'm glad the cans of chickpeas worked for you. They certainly DO take up less time and there are many days when I wish my one discerning palate thing didn't fall on fresh/canned chickpeas. :-)

And I am so glad when I can pass on a recipe that someone really enjoys!Baughfacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649004506659190271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4994789880127179002.post-50618100360948060672011-02-22T20:10:33.665-05:002011-02-22T20:10:33.665-05:00Oh! Something about it sitting there longer makes it taste better :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11306159181638321081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4994789880127179002.post-10284035720122016972011-02-22T20:08:57.444-05:002011-02-22T20:08:57.444-05:00I had Hummus on my salad today for lunch! (of cour...I had Hummus on my salad today for lunch! (of course with balsamic vinegar mixed in, a tasty addition to the salad) I felt full till I got home :)
I must confess, up until now, I'd been using Dried Chickpeas, doing the whole soak overnight+boil thing, but this past weekend I was in a rush and wanted to try cans. The consistency was different...I had to add more water to thin it. The taste was slightly different. I can't say that it was *worse*, but as long as I had the time, I would stick to dried as you recommend. However, for my unsophisticated palate, the cans were a decent alternative when you want "hummus in a hurry" (less than 30 min including clean up)!

Yay hummus! Thank you for teaching me this! =)

-RheaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11306159181638321081noreply@blogger.com
